Seeing the Difference the Gospel makes -- July 7, 2014

Hey Everyone,

Well this week was better than the last.  I have definitely felt all of your prayers and enjoyed all the letters I received from everyone.  I am definitely learning to rely on my faith and prayer. It’s been helping so much; I am so glad I have such an amazing family.

On the 4th of July, we had a pretty good day. The ward here in Radford has a big 4th of July breakfast at the church. We went there in the morning and met a lot of new people that aren't members that were invited to the breakfast. It was fun and the food was really good! We went and bought 4th of July shirts and we bought fishing poles. We attended a baptism after the 4th breakfast and that was really good, it was one of the member’s sons in our ward. Then we had to go back and do a lot of planning for the week. We were able to go help a member at their little festival here.  They had a big concession stand and they had us work the front and talk to people. It was awesome! We gave away so many cards about the church and for the first time ever we had people forming a line to talk to us!  Haha  A lot of the college girls were trying to flirt with us hahaha  It was funny and awkward. We had to explain to a lot of people that we’re missionaries. I guess our name tags didn't do enough justice!! But we had to be back by curfew so we didn't get to see any fireworks. I really missed home that day, but I got through it and for the most part, had fun and enjoyed meeting so many people!
We set a family on date to get baptized!! Eric and Trish Thompson--They are very nice people--he is the guy that I helped fix his scooter. They’re a very poor family and they have hit rock bottom. It’s been so cool teaching them, although they have a long ways to go, I can see the difference the gospel is making in their lives! We are also going to have a wedding for them before they get baptized, that should be in a few weeks. I will keep you posted about them.

I am seeing many miracles take place and I'm still trying to overcome being homesick. I'm getting there, hopefully! I like sharing my testimony with people.  I love seeing people feel the spirit for the first time. It’s an amazing feeling!  Keep praying for me please and sending letters; they help so much! I am truly blessed for such great family and friends.  I love you all!

KEEP THE FAITH!
